Frequently Asked Questions
Who created Budgi?
Budgi was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta by condo board members that recognized the need for a better way for generating condo budgets. They took a massive spreadsheet, found a way to put it online, and created a user interface that is universal as opposed to having to use one of the several spreadsheets that require subscriptions or updates.
How much does it cost and is there recurring billing?
Budgi pricing is based on how many doors/units are in your corporation, with the initial fee being $3.00/door each year. When you consider what conventional software costs for multiple board members to maintain access to we think this is a fair price and model. Given that there is a revolving membership for boards and property managers, Budgi’s reports are payable on an annual basis at the time you generate your report/budget. This way there are no credit cards being billed after a board member or property manager has stepped aside. Even better? We don’t store your payment details so each year you can enter whatever credit card you wish to use for payment.
Do I need to know how to use any software?
The reason Budgi was created was to reduce the need for any particular software knowledge or training. As spreadsheet software solutions get updated and become more complicated from year to year, they require users to keep up to date on their features and changes. Budgi takes this frustration away by doing the calculations behind the scenes and allowing for anyone to take control of their condo budget instead of the software controlling them. Put simply, if you have access to an internet browser, you can create and manage your condo corp budgeting with Budgi.
What happens if I create an account but leave the board or property next year?
We’ve got you covered. This is a frequent occurrence for condominium corporations, and was a supporting rationale for the creation of Budgi in the first place. Click on the account page while in the budgeting process and you’ll see there is a simple transfer process to hand off the access to the account to whomever you choose via a transfer code.
Can I use my mobile device to create my budget?
You certainly can, however Budgi is optimized for use on a desktop computer, so some pages and entries may not work as well on your phone or tablet. Therefore, for the best experience, we recommend users to interface with Budgi on a laptop or desktop device.
